About The Role
The Switchboard operator is part of a small team delivering an effective, courteous and professional first point of telephone contact. The role responsibilities include a provision of immediate responses to Code and Emergency Calls; efficient delivery of telecommunication services by directing phone calls, pager requests and public address related messages in line with protocols and telecommunication etiquette.
Key duties of the role
* Direct calls, pager requests, and announcements per protocol
* Maintain efficient and professional communications services
* Deliver friendly and professional first point of contact
* Respond promptly to emergency calls and codes
Skills And Experience
* Strong interpersonal skills with ability to relate well to staff, professionals, and the public
* High-level proficiency in keyboard skills and data entry accuracy
* Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
* Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
* Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
