This position plays an important role in supporting the school's financial operations, payroll administration and human resource processes while working closely with the Business Manager. There is a wide variety of key tasks that ensure the role is both interesting and challenging, and provides a high level of personal satisfaction and achievement. The Finance and HR Officer will report to the Business Manager and Principal and will be accountable for managing and undertaking all activities in line with organisational policies, procedures, and regulatory and legislative requirements. Key Responsibilities - Maintain and input the majority of the records and transactions concerning the Academy's financial and payroll systems in Xero Accounting, Edumate and other compliance systems - Generate, issue, and reconcile tuition fees, excursion fees and activity levies invoices, administer scholarships and maintain financial information - Manage accounts receivable, communicating with parents on how to manage outstanding accounts and the collection of overdue debts - Assist with payroll administration, ensure compliance with employment laws and policies and maintain the WHS and the Academy handbook - Arrange the advertisement, recruitment and onboarding processes - Maintain HR records, leave management, employment contracts, staff documentation, professional development records and compliance records - Assist with developing and monitoring budgets for academy programs, workshops, and events. - Assisting in financial audits and providing required documentation. - Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including ordering of school supplies, managing subscription processing of accounts payable, reconciliations of accounts, liaising with the Academy's bank and accountant. - Assist with the administration of school programs and events - Communicate with parents regarding fee enquiries - Provide administrative support for the Academy Board, including attending meetings, sending invitations and preparing minutes - Covering the reception area when the Administration staff are away About You The role suits someone who enjoys working in a small team environment and values accuracy, organisation and positive communication with the school community - teachers, parents and carers, students, business partners, the administration team and the Principal.
