The role of the Verger is to ensure that all events on the St Luke's campus are safe, secure and well managed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain a tidy and orderly appearance of the grounds and Church buildings, ensuring they remain in good condition at all times.
* Implement safety precautions and minimize security risks through regular monitoring and maintenance.
* Oversee and coordinate facilities and equipment for services, ensuring they are functioning properly and meet the needs of the congregation.
* Engage uniformed personnel as necessary and prioritize personal safety above all else.
* Coordinate with the Parish Administrator to secure specialist cleaners or tradespeople, streamlining the process for efficient service delivery.
* Manage visiting teams that come into the Parish for outreach and worship, fostering a welcoming environment for all.
Essential Qualifications:
* A minimum year 12 education, demonstrating a solid foundation in academic studies.
* A current Police Check and Working with Children Check, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
* An understanding of Anglican worship practice, allowing for effective collaboration with clergy and parishioners.
Working Relationships:
* Vicar, providing support and guidance in matters of worship and parish life.
* Clergy, working collaboratively to enhance spiritual growth and community engagement.
* Warden/s, partnering to maintain the integrity and well-being of the parish.
* Treasurer, collaborating to manage financial resources effectively.
* Parish Volunteers, engaging them in meaningful roles to foster a sense of belonging.
* Parish Staff, supporting their efforts to deliver exceptional service and care.
* External contacts: Parishioners, General public, Contractors, establishing strong relationships to promote mutual understanding and respect.
