About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a major project focused on enhancing climate resilience in agricultural landscapes. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in conservation-focused project delivery, particularly those that involve spatial modelling and ecological monitoring.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
* Proven experience managing complex, multidisciplinary environmental or conservation projects.
* Expertise in data-driven project design and implementation, particularly those incorporating landscape-scale spatial analysis.
* Strong understanding of ecological monitoring methodologies and how they inform adaptive land management.
* A track record of building and maintaining community partnerships, with excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
You'll be responsible for overseeing the project's full lifecycle—from planning and implementation to monitoring and reporting—while ensuring collaboration between landholders, researchers, and regional partners.

SELECTION CRITERIA
* Strong understanding and experience in using project management principles and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, PMP, PRINCE2).
* Proficiency with project management software (e.g., ClickUp, MS Project, Asana, Jira, Trello).
* Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated practical experience in environmental management or project management at an equivalent level.
* Sound understanding and experience of biodiversity conservation and restoration, natural resource management and sustainable agriculture issues in Tasmania.
* Experience managing a small team.
* Experience in assessing and managing risk, both at a project level and an operational level.
* Experience working with a range of stakeholders (e.g., private landholders, community groups, councils).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to build productive professional relationships.
* Demonstrated ability to manage competing demands on time on a transparent and professional basis.
* Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to work in a changing environment.
* Maintains a high level of integrity, trustworthiness and respect for others, including confidentiality of sensitive information.
* Strong computer literacy and the ability to quickly master new technologies.
* Working With Vulnerable People registration or ability to obtain.
* Experience in delivering community capacity building programs.
* Experience in grant management (on both the grantor side and the grantee side).
* GIS experience.
