In this role, you'll:
1. Be part of the Development Services team for the West Region, focused on understanding the needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centered transport services and infrastructure.
2. Coordinate and prepare TfNSW responses to planning authorities and private developers for land use planning and development proposals, in accordance with legislation, policy, and guidelines.
3. Work across a geographic portfolio covering approximately 60% of NSW, from Moree Shire to Broken Hill, including Central West Orana, the Blue Mountains, and the Unincorporated Area.

About you
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. You should be able to build rapport and develop strong stakeholder relationships internally and externally.
* Leverage these relationships to seek advice, inform decisions, negotiate outcomes, and overcome challenges.
* Critical thinking is vital. You will review development applications, traffic analyses, and assess transport impacts in a time-critical environment, requiring problem-solving, creativity, and a questioning attitude.
* The role suits an experienced Traffic or Development Engineer familiar with development assessment, urban and regional planning, traffic engineering, modelling, and transport planning in NSW. Candidates from related backgrounds with relevant skills will also be considered.
The team is based in Parkes but has offices across the West Region of NSW. Flexible regional work arrangements are available.
