RESPONSIBILITIESDesign for High-Impact ProjectsDevelop innovative design concepts for major campaigns, events, and strategic initiatives.Create high-quality graphics, layouts, and visual assets for print and digital media, including reports, presentations, posters, and social media.Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure designs align with project goals and brand guidelines.Brand Identity & Visual ConsistencyEnsure all designs uphold the union’s brand identity and visual standards.Maintain consistency across all visual outputs, enhancing brand recognition and trust.Update and evolve design templates and brand assets as needed.Collaboration & Stakeholder EngagementWork closely with marketing, communications, and portfolio teams to understand design requirements and objectives.Present design concepts to stakeholders, incorporating feedback and refining ideas to achieve desired outcomes.Liaise with external vendors or contractors for specialised production needs.Bring fresh, creative ideas to the table, pushing the boundaries of traditional design approaches.Identify new tools, trends, and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of design outputs.Time & Project ManagementManage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality.Prioritise tasks based on project impact and organisational needs.Quality AssuranceReview and proof all designs to ensure accuracy and attention to detail.Conduct pre-production checks for print and digital materials to guarantee high-quality results.Training & SupportProvide training and guidance to colleagues on the use of multimedia tools and techniques.Offer technical support during live events or presentations, ensuring seamless multimedia integration.Analytics & ReportingMonitor the performance of multimedia content using analytics tools and audience feedback.Provide insights and recommendations to improve future content and campaigns.Stay informed about emerging trends and techniques in multimedia production and visual storytelling.Experiment with new formats and technologies to push creative boundaries and enhance audience engagement.Growth & RetentionContribute to content strategies and campaigns that drive member growth, engagement, and retention.Implement tactics to nurture and expand digital communities, fostering long-term member engagement.Analyse audience behaviours and preferences to tailor content that enhances the audience and member experience.Brand & Reputation ManagementEnsure content reflects and enhances the UWU’s brand identity and values.Monitor online sentiment and engage with audiences to maintain a positive brand image.Support crisis communications and reputation management efforts through timely, accurate, and thoughtful content.Collaboration, Stakeholder Engagement & Active Team MemberWork closely with the teams across UWU to ensure cohesive messaging.Liaise with external vendors or freelancers, as needed, for specialised content production.Cover other roles of the Public Affairs team as necessary due to leave, assignment or other operational necessities.Internal CommunicationsContribute to as directed, the creation and delivery of internal communications, ensuring employees are kept informed, engaged, and aligned with organisational objectives.KEY SELECTION CRITERIAQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field, or equivalent experience.ExperienceProven experience in graphic design, particularly on high-impact projects (3+ years preferred).Technical SkillsProficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).Knowledge of motion graphics or video editing software (e.g., After Effects, Premiere Pro) is a plus.Understanding of print production processes and digital design best practices.Soft SkillsStrong communication and presentation skills.Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Commitment to and understanding of UWU’s values and priorities.To perform this job, you will also be required to have or obtain and maintain:A valid driver’s licence;Right of Entry Permits;Immunisation against COVID-19 or have a medical exemption.REMUNERATIONAn attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful applicant, which will include:Salary commensurate
