The Opportunity
You will integrate armament engineering expertise to support various defense programs including fighter jets and military aircraft. This role can be based in multiple locations across Australia.
This position involves undertaking key activities such as:
* Delivering new and upgraded weapons and stores capabilities through engineering and project management.
* Liaising with government agencies and international partners to coordinate services and artefacts for local introduction and certification of new and modified weapons.
* Evaluating integration of new and modified stores against aircraft compatibility requirements.
* Supporting operational testing and trials involving new or modified weapons.
* Managing platform service release activities.
* Engaging with platform upgrade projects and capability representatives.
* Providing guidance and mentoring to junior engineers as a senior team member.
* Assisting the team in prioritizing tasks related to ongoing airworthiness management.
* Leading, analyzing, developing and reviewing system hazards for stores and weapons.
About You
To succeed, you will have:
* Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Aerospace, Avionics, Mechatronics or Chemical Engineering that meets Engineers Australia membership standards.
* Previous experience in armament and stores, aircraft operational systems and aviation engineering processes.
* Capability to gain engineering designations on relevant platforms.
* Registration as a Professional Engineer of Queensland or eligibility to obtain.
You must be an Australian Citizen to meet national security clearance requirements.
