Project Manager

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will assist the Project Management Office in managing its operating framework to deliver Council’s signature projects. This role requires overseeing project management systems, delivering financial and business analysis, and providing professional advice to support informed decision-making.



Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee operational management of major City projects to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery.
* Conduct site meetings, document minutes, and report progress.
* Develop project plans with risk strategies and remedial actions.
* Prepare accurate cost estimates, liaise with quantity surveyors, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Provide progress reports and presentations to the Project Management Office Manager and Director Engineering.
* Deliver professional advice and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
* Promote innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
* Ensure compliance with construction legislation, City policies, and safety requirements.
* Build partnerships to support best-practice community infrastructure.
* Maintain compliance with Safety Management System and OHS standards.
* Register all corporate documentation in the City’s record-keeping system.



Requirements:

* Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
* Proven experience in project development and large municipal projects.
* Strong track record in meeting objectives within budget and corporate requirements.
* Skilled in cost/benefit analysis, value management, and assessment techniques.
* Experience preparing and administering tenders and contracts.
* Ability to engage stakeholders and achieve agreed outcomes.
* Successful delivery of projects from conception to handover.
* Current National Police Clearance and WA “C” Class driver’s license.
