Location

This iconic Resort is situated between the renowned Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest in Tropical North Queensland. The resort comprises 295 guest rooms, suites and villas.

The Position

Strategic Leadership
* Contribute to Strategic Business and Operational Plans and develop detailed HR strategies aligned to business objectives.
* Continually align HR initiatives with evolving business needs, resort vision and brand strategy.
* Provide proactive, professional advisory support to the Manager(s) and Executive Committee(s).
* Effectively implement and support all Marriott systems, programs and initiatives.
Industrial & Employee Relations
* Oversee all employee and industrial relations matters in line with federal, state and local legislation.
* Manage Awards interpretation, Enterprise Agreement negotiations, union consultation and organisational restructuring.
* Represent the business in employment‐related legal proceedings and disputes.
* Ensure fair and consistent grievance and disciplinary procedures.
* Monitor absenteeism, performance management and talent development programs including PDP, LPP, probation reviews and succession planning.
Recruitment, Training & Development
* Lead recruitment strategies positioning the resort as an Employer of Choice.
* Actively recruit senior leadership roles and oversee recruitment at all levels.
* Partner with hospitality colleges and manage entry‐level programs.
* Oversee hotel training needs analysis, budgets, development programs and evaluations.
* Drive engagement, capability and career development aligned with the Marriott Journey.
Occupational Health & Safety & Wellbeing
* Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and Marriott safety standards.
* Lead workplace injury management and return‐to‐work programs.
* Actively participate in Safety Committee initiatives and emergency preparedness.
* Champion associate wellbeing and the Marriott Take Care Movement.
Compensation, Payroll & Headcount
* Partner with Finance on compensation strategies, incentives and recognition programs.
* Oversee payroll operations, compliance with superannuation and benefits administration.
* Monitor headcount, productivity and labour compliance throughout the year.
Policies, Culture & Communication
* Ensure compliance with Marriott HR policies, EEO, anti‐discrimination and harassment standards.
* Promote positive culture, community involvement and Serve360 initiatives.
* Lead hotel‐wide communication forums, HR meetings and associate engagement activities.
HR Department Leadership
* Lead and develop the HR team through coaching, performance reviews and career pathing.
* Ensure confidentiality, best‐practice HR service delivery and continuous improvement.
* Analyse associate feedback, engagement scores and guest experience insights.

About You:

* Proven senior HR leadership experience in a large hotel, resort or service‐driven organisation.
* Strong knowledge of employment legislation, industrial relations and WHS frameworks.
* Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cultural change.
* Highly organised, professional and solutions‐focused with excellent interpersonal skills.
* Experience working within a global brand or matrix environment highly regarded.
