About the opportunity
Mercy Health Albury is currently a 30-bed facility that prides itself on providing freshly prepared meals every day to support patient care and wellbeing. Our Food Services team operates between 8:00am and 7:00pm, with three rotating shift times across the day to ensure consistent service delivery.
Each day, the team is made up of five staff members, working collaboratively to deliver meal preparation, plating, service, and kitchen support functions. The role focuses on basic food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and following all food safety, HACCP, and infection control standards within a hospital environment.
This position requires flexibility, as shifts may include weekends and public holidays, in line with hospital operations. Successful applicants will understand the importance of teamwork, reliability, and providing a safe, high‐quality food service to patients.
Responsibilities
* Provide efficient, quality focused food services to patients within Mercy Health Albury, ensuring meals are prepared, served, and handled safely while supporting patient care and wellbeing in line with food safety, infection control, and organisational standards.
* Assist with basic food preparation, meal service, and cleaning duties, ensuring compliance with HACCP, NSW Food Authority guidelines, and hospital policies while maintaining a clean, safe, and functional kitchen environment.
* Work as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team to deliver a responsive, reliable, and flexible food service, including participation in rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays, to support continuous hospital operations and patient needs.
