Safety Manager – Large infrastructure project

· $190,000 - $200,000 + Super + Car

· Large Road project, Northern NSW

· Fulltime role, long term project

This Australian owned and operated civil contractor is delivering a $200M infrastructure project: earthworks, services associated with this large infrastructure project that will run for the next 2 years.

You will report directly into the Project Director successfully manage and mitigate safety risks and impacts on site, We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager with previous experience in a similar role. While managing two advisors you will ensure Work, Health and Safety function under general supervision and implement safety practices, systems and procedures are followed as mapped out by the clients requirements.

This position will involve:

* Providing support, coordination and advice of health and safety practices, systems and procedures including coaching and support to stakeholders across sections
* Providing technical input to delivery, ensuring that legal and contractual obligations / risks are identified, controlled and communicated appropriately
* Maintaining and implementing the Project's WHS policy, management plans, systems and procedures
* Assist with engagement with client representatives, subcontractors and other stakeholders
* Conducting inductions, toolbox talks, and deliver training sessions
* Conducting regular site inspections, reviews and audits to schedule
* Assist in incident reporting and investigation.


Skills and Experience

· Diploma Safety in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent

· Ideally 5 - 10 years' experience in a similar role within Health and Safety teams, preferably on large Civil Construction, Mining or Infrastructure Projects

· Ability to interpret project related documents, preparing reports and monitoring compliance documentation

· Ability to build relationships and rapport with people at all levels

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Knowledge of risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls

· Strong investigative and auditing skills

To be successful in acquiring this role you will need to possess a can do attitude while being very positive and personable. Ideally a person with a couple of years experience in civil construction safety and a trade background. You will be home on weekends and while away you will be supplied with comfortable accommodation and all meals.
