I have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Investigations Officer to join a key regulatory division within a prominent South Australian Government agency. This is a fantastic 12-month contract opportunity to provide strategic direction and leadership in compliance and enforcement services.
You will be required to :
Provide strategic direction for the effective delivery of compliance and enforcement services.
Undertake complex and protracted investigations involving natural persons and corporations relating to compliance with administering legislation.
Conduct regulatory compliance monitoring on regulated activities of the sector.
Provide investigatory advice to key stakeholders within associated government departments.
Contribute to culture change and strategic thinking in areas of compliance and regulation and develop effective cross-agency approaches and strategies to respond to agency challenges and opportunities arising from addressing priority issues.
Ideally, you will possess :
Extensive experience in interpreting and enforcing legislation, and progressing action in relation to non-compliance, particularly in relation to mining and environmental issues.
Demonstrated experience in conducting investigations into complex matters.
Experience and expertise in the gathering of evidence and preparation of court briefs and files.
Formal qualifications in law, investigations or criminal procedure are desirable, but not essential.
