Role Overview
This Development Manager role will see you take ownership across the full development lifecycle, working on a mix of townhouse and apartment projects from pre-acquisition and planning through to delivery, settlements, and defect resolution. You will operate in a highly integrated environment, working closely with internal construction, design, sales, and finance teams, with immediate involvement across active projects including a townhouse development nearing construction and a large-scale multi-stage apartment project in early planning.
Responsibilities
* Manage the end-to-end development lifecycle across multiple projects
* Oversee planning approvals, permits, and authority engagement
* Drive project feasibility, budgeting, and programme management
* Coordinate design development with internal and external consultants
* Manage procurement and transition into construction delivery
* Act as the key interface between development and construction teams
* Monitor project performance including cost, programme, and risk
* Lead value management initiatives across development and build phases
* Oversee sales interface, including review of marketing collateral and contracts
* Manage settlements, defects, and post-completion processes
* Build and maintain relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders
* Contribute to broader strategic initiatives across the development pipeline
Requirements
* Exposure in the full development lifecycle across residential projects
* Experience dealing with councils, planning processes, and approvals
* Strong understanding of feasibility, budgeting, and programme management
* Experience working closely with construction teams or on-site exposure
* Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across internal and external teams
* Exposure to value management and cost optimisation
* Experience across different asset classes (apartments, townhouses, etc.) advantageous
* Strong communication and relationship-building capability
* A proactive, hands-on approach with a genuine interest in development
