Dawsons Engineering is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join our team at a mine site in North West Queensland. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic mining environment where safety, quality, and continuous improvement are at the forefront.
The Role
As a Laboratory Technician, you will ensure high-quality analytical services are delivered to internal and external customers in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
You will play a key role in maintaining laboratory standards and supporting operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct routine laboratory analyses in accordance with written methods and procedures
* Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
* Perform sample preparation and wet chemical procedures
* Maintain a safe and clean workplace, including routine cleaning and 5S audits
* Ensure compliance with company Safety and Quality policies
* Participate in and promote continuous improvement initiatives
* Perform other duties as directed by the Laboratory Team Leader
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:
* Certificate III in Laboratory Skills (or equivalent)
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in laboratory operations
* Manual C Class Driver Licence
* Strong analytical skills and technical knowledge
* Experience using LIMS, MS Word, and Excel
Preferred Technical Experience
Experience with the following instrumentation and techniques will be highly regarded:
* ICP-OES
* LECO
* ISE Analysis
* Gas Chromatography
* UV-Vis Spectrometry
* Sample preparation techniques
* Wet chemical analysis
