Role Overview
The Family Support Coordinator plays a vital role in helping children and families transition from early childhood services into primary school.
This position involves working with diverse stakeholders, including classroom teachers, parents, and community services, to provide support and resources that promote positive attendance, behaviour, and learning outcomes.
* Implement structured collaborations with external partners to drive positive outcomes for families and children.
* Connect families with services such as health, therapeutic, and developmental interventions.
* Build and sustain relationships with students, parents, school staff, government agencies, and community services.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in working with vulnerable children and families, and be able to bring their knowledge and skills into school communities to facilitate engagement in learning and improved learning outcomes.
Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement strategies to improve student attendance, behaviour, and engagement in learning.
2. Work closely with classroom teachers and specialist support staff to understand the needs of individual students.
3. Provide expert input into decision-making processes to ensure optimum outcomes for children and their families.
