Riverland Wine is the peak body representing 700+ grape growers and winemakers across one of Australia's most important wine regions. We advocate for a sustainable, resilient, and competitive sector - supporting members, influencing policy, and amplifying the Riverland's national and global voice.
We are seeking a motivated and strategic Executive Officer to lead the organisation through a period of transformation, industry challenge, and opportunity.
This is a pivotal role for an experienced, relationship‐driven professional who can engage confidently across government, industry, media and the community.
Lead Operations
Direct and manage the operational activities of Riverland Wine to ensure efficient delivery of programs, services, and organisational objectives.
Drive Strategic Outcomes
Work closely with the Board and key stakeholders to implement the Strategic Plan, supporting the organisation's mission, vision, and long‐term sustainability.
Coordinate Delivery Groups
Facilitate, coordinate and support working groups, technical committees, and project teams to ensure strong progress across priority areas.
Engage and Advocate
Actively engage with more than 700 growers and winemakers, along with external stakeholders including: Wine Australia, research institutions, local irrigation trusts, CCW, South Australian Wine Industry Association, Wine Grape Council of South Australia, the Inland Winegrape Growers Alliance, Murray–Darling Basin Authority, PIRSA, federal/state/local government and other regional industry bodies.
Outstanding communication and advocacy skills, including the ability to engage Ministers, government agencies, media, industry leaders and grassroots members.
Strong knowledge of industry, water and environmental policy and its impact on agriculture and viticulture.
Interest in digital technology and innovation relevant to grape growing, winemaking and wine marketing.
General management capability, including operational, technical or financial management experience.
Residency in the Riverland (potential location flexibility).
Understanding of the wine sector (preferred) or broader primary production.
Interest or experience in engineering, computing or mathematical sciences and how these can be applied in viticulture and wine production.
Experience with Xero software or willingness to learn.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, including: Incorporated Associations Act (SA) 1985, Wine Grapes Industry Act (SA) 1991, Fair Trading Act (SA) 1987 and Primary Industry Funding Schemes Act (SA) 1998.
