Job Description:
"We are seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager to oversee all technical, mechanical, and facility-related operations during the pre-opening phase and transition to opening. This role requires strong leadership and project coordination skills to ensure seamless execution of hotel systems, maintenance programs, and emergency procedures."
Responsibilities:
* Review engineering drawings, equipment schedules, and operational manuals
* Work with project consultants and contractors to ensure construction and installation works meet brand specifications and local regulations
* Participate in site inspections, commissioning of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevators, life safety systems)
* Develop the pre-opening engineering critical path and operational plan
* Establish preventive maintenance programs and assets registers for all equipment, including utilities
* Ensure safe and efficient operation of all technical systems in the hotel
* Maintain compliance with fire, health, and safety regulations
* Lead emergency procedure and coordinate regular safety drills
* Prepare and manage engineering budgets, CapEx and utility
* Monitor energy usage and implement cost-effective energy management strategies
* Manage external contractors for specialized maintenance and inspections
Requirements:
* Proven success as an Engineering Manager within luxury or upper-upscale hotels advantageous
* Degree or diploma in Engineering (mechanical, Electrical, Civil or related fields) or Tradesperson qualified
* Minimum 5 – 7 years of hotel engineering experience, including 2+ years in supervisory or managerial role
* Proven experience in pre-opening hotel projects is highly preferred
