Job Description:
The Senior Underwriter – Higher Hazard Property plays a crucial role in the national High Hazard Property team. Key responsibilities include executing on the Higher Hazard Property product strategy, delivering key financial targets to drive profitable growth and increase market share, developing a cohesive underwriting plan, emphasizing solution-oriented underwriting, and working closely with Distribution to build product market awareness and strengthen broker relationships.
This position involves day-to-day operational underwriting functions, including underwriting and negotiating individual policy renewals, new business, and mid-term policy adjustments. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of portfolio, underwriting, reinsurance, and pricing practices, as well as demonstrated knowledge of the general insurance industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Execute on the Higher Hazard Property product strategy and deliver key financial targets.
* Develop and execute a cohesive UW plan and service/value proposition.
* Emphasize solution-oriented underwriting by excelling in customer service fundamentals.
* Work closely with Distribution to build product market awareness and strengthen broker relationships.
* Deliver comprehensive product training to key broker partners.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Minimum 5 years commercial experience in property insurance.
* Demonstrated knowledge of portfolio, underwriting, reinsurance, and pricing practices.
* Solid understanding of the general insurance industry.
* Ability to drive accountability and commitment to achieving goals.
