Technical Support Specialist
The role involves working closely with the sales team to provide technical support to customers. This includes reviewing system architectures and quotations for technical accuracy, as well as serving as a primary customer interface for accounts from ordering through to installation, maintenance, and ongoing support.
A key aspect of the position is planning and managing installations of complex systems of multiple products. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail and a passion for technology who wants to develop their career in a fast-moving defence technology company.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the sales team providing support in customer technical engagement, reviewing system architectures and quotations for technical accuracy
* Serve as a primary customer interface for accounts from ordering through to installation, maintenance, and ongoing support
* Plan and manage installations of complex systems of multiple products
* Engage with customers to receive and document technical feedback
* Support new product development projects by serving as the 'voice of the customer' to the engineering team
* Perform end-user validation testing of new products and software releases
* Provide remote and on-the-ground technical support to customers
* Conduct engineering investigation and analysis to resolve technical issues with limited support
* Develop and maintain documentation of systems and processes to ensure continual improvements over time
* Establish and maintain close relationships with internal and external stakeholders and customers
* Keep yourself up to date with the latest technologies, tools and methods to be effective in your role
Requirements:
* Engineering or similar university degree is highly regarded
* Experience in a Field Service Engineering role, providing technical support directly to customers and managing projects with engineering teams
* Proficient with Linux operating system (essential)
* Experience in testing of complex systems
* Experience with telecommunications, radio frequency, and/or electronic warfare is highly regarded
* Knowledge from a range of engineering fields and history collaborating with stakeholders and subject matter experts from a variety of backgrounds
* Existing Defence Security Clearance is preferred but not essential
