About Purchasing Officer Role

We are seeking a skilled Purchasing Officer to join our Inventory and Purchasing team due to continued growth throughout the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for raising purchase orders for materials/equipment required at the project, monitoring and converting of purchase orders, communicating with suppliers, managing daily receipt and purchasing of goods, their storage and issue resolution, timely and accurate administration and maintenance of purchasing services, workload management of storage areas and purchasing needs, negotiating with identified suppliers, providing authoritative advice and assistance to onsite staff, reviewing and monitoring supplies and supplier performance, implementing processes to maintain stock, undertaking stock takes and managing stock holdings, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations, participating in continuous improvement activities relating to purchasing and store/inventory practices and procedures, analysing usage trends and patterns and generating reports to inform planning and purchasing decision making.

Requirements
\
To be considered for this role, you will have:
\
* Perth based residence
* Minimum 3 years' experience as a Purchasing/Stores officer or similar type role
* Mining experience
* Current and valid C Class drivers licence
* HRWL - Forklift Licence
* High level of customer service skills
* Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with stakeholders and suppliers
* Computer literacy, including experience using a purchasing and inventory management system
* Excellent conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills
* Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol screen and security screening requirements
