Overview
The Team: Hellyer CHN & HCS covers areas including but not limited to Burnie, Wynyard & Penguin including rural districts of Riana, Ridgely, Natone, Yolla, Myalla, Sisters Beach, and Waratah. Clients also receive care in Community Nursing clinics in Burnie and Wynyard. Our dynamic and supportive team consists of Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Consultant, CNC-Community Nurse Liaison, Clinical Nurse Specialists, RNs, ENs, Home Care Coordinator, Administrative Staff, Home Help/Personal Carers and Home Maintenance staff.
Service delivery models include:
* General Community Nursing
* Community Nursing Enhanced Care Service (CoNECS) – Direct referral pathway from DEM for short-term care at the Community Nursing clinic for clients requiring IV medication and/or wound care (including burns)
* Hospital in the Home (HITH) programme – clients are transferred to a 'virtual ward' and cared for at home by Community Nurses while remaining under the care of the hospital consultant
The Role
Nursing care provided includes but is not limited to:
* Chronic and complex wound care including Negative Pressure Wound Therapy
* Management of venous access devices (PIVC & CVAD)
* Indwelling and suprapubic catheter management
* End of life palliative care including syringe driver management
* Post-acute care following discharge from hospital
* Medication management including support of medication administration via various routes and devices
You will need
* Current Drivers Licence
* Efficient and effective communication skills to liaise with all members of the multidisciplinary team
* Experience working within the Primary Health Sector (desirable, but not essential)

Details of appointment
* Multiple permanent, full time and part time, shift worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as you can join us.
* Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $73,109 to $80,524 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439 - $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4. In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type

Eligibility
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse (holds a Board-approved qualification in administration of medicines)
* Current Driver's Licence
* Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements)
