The Role:
This is a unique and highly varied hybrid role supporting both our Transport and Rural divisions across two locations depending on the season:
* April-September (Peak Season): On-farm at Selma Road, including weekend work as required.
* October-March: In the Lindsay Rural Depot, Springsure Road.
We're looking for a motivated and reliable 2IC to join our Emerald team.
This role provides crucial support to the Depot Manager and ensures the smooth operation of the team. As we operate a small depot, this role will be multifaceted.
Your daily responsibilities will include forklift operations, local pickups, and various administrative tasks.
Duties you can expect with this role include:
Operations Supervisor / 2IC
* Ensures the smooth operation of the depot / branch in absence of the Depot Manager.
* Working with temperature sensitive produce, ensuring the safe & timely handling of company freight.
* Manifesting, loading planning and supporting operations.
* Completing relevant pre-start checklists, safety documentation and delivery paperwork.
* Load and unload trucks, working on dock & in cold room areas.
* Interacting with customers in a professional manner.
* Working closely with depot teams for the loading, unloading and transportation of freight.
Rural Customer Service & Store Support
* Stock ordering, receivals, transfers, inventory control and stocktakes.
* Delivery of customer goods if valid truck licence held.
* Record chemicals as per Lindsay Rural procedures.
* Counter / store front sales and service as required.
About You:
We are looking for someone who brings:
* Demonstrated supervision, leadership experience ideally in a similar role and / or industry.
* Excellent customer service, relationship-building skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
* Current and valid Forklift licence.
* Positive attitude, great communication skills and willingness to learn.
* Ability to multitask, shows resilience, adaptability and a steady approach under pressure.
* Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications.
* Have a commitment to workplace health and safety.
Highly Regarded (Not Essential)
* Unrestricted manual HR Licence or greater licence class.
Applicants must demonstrate the ability too:
* Pass a Commercial Drivers Health Assessment including drug and alcohol test.
* Provide a copy of your driving history (if truck licence held).
* Work in & around fertiliser, nutrient, chemical and packaging stock, across alternative locations.
* Work extended hours during the season which may include weekends & public holidays
