The Role
Reporting to the Design & Drafting Manager, you will play a key role in assisting another colleague in a checking and drafting capacity. Working closely with both Design & Drafting Manager and your fellow checker, your expertise in building design, R-Codes, and the NCC will ensure compliance and buildability for our customers and construction team. This role requires strong construction knowledge, creativity, and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment. At times, you may also assist in the Production of sales sketches and design concepts in collaboration with Sales and Design Consultants to refine concepts and Contribute to the development of new standard product and display homes.
About You
We are searching for a dedicated, energeticSenior Draftsperson who must have 5+ years’ experience in single-storey residential construction, to join our dynamic team in a full-time capacity.
Requirements of the role
- 5+ years’ experience in single-storey drafting in the residential building industry.
- Comprehensive building and construction knowledge
- Have a thorough understanding of Local Government Planning Policies/Developer Guidelines, Building Codes of Australia, and R Codes
- Ability to interpret DAP’s, LDP’s, Structure Plans, Covenants, etc.
- Advanced skills in ArchiCAD, previous experience with 4D Library preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail and accuracy
