Banksia Florist has Casual positions available to join our team. The ideal person would have experience in Retail/ floristry & floral arranging, a wide knowledge of flowers and a passion for working in the industry. We are a very passionate family owned business. We stock a variety of unique and locally grown flowers and giftware from Tasmania and surrounds and are open 6 days.
We would love to welcome someone with floristry and retail experience, who has a friendly can do attitude, well presented, reliable and honest, has great computer skills, fantastic communication and interpersonal skills. Flexible schedule available for the right applicants. All applications are confidential. Available for immediate start.
Previous floristry experience is required — must be able to demonstrate ability; formal qualification not necessarily required. Ability to represent Banksia Florist to the local community in an honest, professional and friendly manner.
Knowledge of flower and plant varieties. Exceptional customer service, communication skills, good organisation and time management. Ability to work unsupervised independently and within a close knit team environment. Confidence with money handling (Cash & EFTPOS). Full unrestricted Driver Licence. Presentation of bouquets (including wrapping, ribbons etc).
Willingness and physical ability to perform all duties including – flower prep and arranging, retail sales, customer service, standing for extended periods, bending, lifting and cleaning. Able to assist with weddings and events. Maintaining a clean and safe workspace including washing vases, sweeping floors etc.
Able to multitask and remain focused in a fast paced environment.
Creating floral arrangements in line with the current style of Banksia Florist. Providing exceptional customer service by assisting clients in selecting the perfect florals and gifts that suit their needs in-store and on the phone. Answering phone calls, taking detailed orders and payments over the phone with a cheerful and appropriate manner. Knowledge of right to work in Australia and other employment-related questions may be requested as part of the application process.
Responsibilities
- Creating floral arrangements in line with the current style of Banksia Florist.
- Prepare and care for flowers and plants.
- Create stunning floral arrangements for occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, corporate events and weddings.
- Presentation of bouquets (including wrapping, ribbons, etc.).
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting clients in selecting florals and gifts in-store and on the phone.
- Answer phone calls, take detailed orders, and process payments over the phone with a cheerful and professional manner.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace (washing vases, sweeping floors, etc.).
- Able to assist with weddings and events.
- Knowledge of flower and plant varieties.
- Strong attention to detail and a creative eye.
- Ability to multitask and stay focused in a fast-paced environment.
