Key Volunteer Role in Hospital Care
The Inpatient Connector plays a vital part in providing emotional support to patients on hospital wards. They engage with patients and visitors, offering a warm welcome and listening ear.
* Maintain communication with nursing staff to identify patients needing assistance
* Listen attentively to patients' concerns, anxieties or worries
* Collaborate with nurses to resolve issues affecting patient care with the patient's consent
Volunteers undergo comprehensive training including a site induction, and are encouraged to commit to regular shifts for more than six months.
