Employment Type: Fixed Term Part Time, with ongoing employment upon successful completion of the course.
Hours: 64 hours per fortnight (0.84 EFT).
Salary: As per Nursing EBA.
Location: Werribee Mercy Hospital.
Role Overview
You will undertake a supported Graduate Diploma in Critical Care (Adult Intensive Care) 2027 Intake. The role is an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, providing direct patient‐focused care within the Intensive Care Unit.
Responsibilities
* Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients within the Intensive Care Unit.
* Participate in bedside teaching, weekly tutorials, and dedicated study days.
* Complete an extensive clinical practice portfolio and supernumerary time as you progress in the role.
* Transition to ICU from July to January as part of the course schedule.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Excellent clinical, time‐management, organisational and communication skills.
* Compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care.
* Ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
* Proof of current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
* Current evidence of influenza vaccination and other required vaccination status.
Education Path & Opportunities
* Enroll in the postgraduate certificate of Critical Care Nursing course with the option to exit after the first year with a Graduate Certificate in Critical Care.
* Continue to study for the Diploma and Masters if desired.
