Job Description
In a time of rapid technological evolution and growing data demands, Cotality seeks a motivated and detail‑oriented Associate Data Engineer to join our dynamic, cross‑functional team. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting‑edge data solutions that power multiple markets and domains.
What You Will Be Doing
* Develop data engineering solutions using Python and SQL for large, complex datasets
* Build modern data platforms across GCP and AWS using native cloud services and open‑source tools (BigQuery, S3, GCS, Airflow, Lambda)
* Design and implement high‑throughput, low‑latency event‑driven data pipelines and ETLs using AWS and SQL tools (DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, Athena, Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS)
* Deliver technical solutions aligned with business, non‑functional, and strategic requirements
* Build deep subject‑matter expertise across multiple data domains
* Support, extend, and optimize existing data solutions
* Create and maintain continuous delivery pipelines using current practices and tooling
* Ensure systems align with Cotality's overall technology strategy
* Maintain coherent and up‑to‑date documentation of data processes and assets
* Work effectively within an agile team environment to deliver robust, scalable solutions
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to execute data strategy
* Comply with Cotality's WHS obligations and actively participate in safety training and frameworks
Job Qualifications
What You Will Bring:
Essential
* Experience with cloud technologies (GCP preferred; AWS or GCP required)
* Familiarity with streaming technologies (Kafka, SNS, SQS)
* Exposure to AI fundamentals
* Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Java, NodeJS, JavaScript, or C#
* Understanding of cloud concepts and architectures
* Experience in data pipeline/ETL/orchestration development
* Ability to reverse‑engineer complex data solutions
* Knowledge of structured, semi‑structured, and unstructured data
* Experience working collaboratively in an agile environment (Atlassian tools)
* Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
* Proficiency with source code management tools (Git)
* Knowledge of monitoring tools
Preferred
* Conceptual, logical, and physical dimensional data modeling experience
* Experience building high‑performance data solutions in enterprise environments
