The Office for Early Childhood Development has been formed with a explicit mandate: to create a fairer and better future for all children in South Australia by implementing the accepted recommendations of the Royal Commission into Early Childhood Education and Care.
As the steward of the early childhood development system, the Office will act on government’s behalf and work in collaboration with the sector to organise and connect the system to reduce developmental vulnerability.
This includes providing universal access to quality, teacher‑led preschool from the age of 3, growing and sustaining a quality early childhood workforce and greater supports and connected services for families in the 1000 days of a child’s life.
About This Role
This role is part of the Preschool Boost and Inclusion team, a small and dynamic team leading the development of initiatives to strengthen inclusion and access to high quality program and supports in early childhood education and care.
The Senior Project and Policy Officer will be responsible for undertaking a broad range of core project and policy related functions, while operating within a collaborative team culture and working closely with colleagues across the Office and external stakeholders to deliver shared outcomes.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver complex projects and change management functions.
- Coordinate detailed analysis and reporting to inform senior management.
- Prepare high‑quality documentation, including policies, briefings and reports.
- Build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee procurement processes, including contracts and deliverables.
About You
You will bring extensive experience in developing and implementing policies, planning, coordinating and delivering complex programs and projects and the ability to develop strong relationships with stakeholders all whilst fostering a safe, innovative and collaborative work environment.
