About the Opportunity

South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) is seeking a passionate and experienced Nurse Unit Manager Level 2 to lead the Acute Aged Care Ward at Campbelltown Hospital. This is a unique opportunity to take charge of a dynamic clinical environment and guide a dedicated team in delivering safe, compassionate, and culturally responsive care to our older patients. As the NUM, you’ll be responsible for the overall management of the ward—ensuring excellence in patient care, mentoring staff, and optimising resources to meet clinical and operational goals. You’ll play a vital role in shaping the culture of the unit, fostering collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing

The Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) is in-charge of all aspects of the unit environment and takes overall responsibility for the standard of patient care in the unit. The NUM is pivotal to the coordination of patient care, unit management and leadership to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and efficient use of resources.

- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated senior nursing experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.
- Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the unit are managed to provide safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
- Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
