About The Opportunity
As a Payroll Coordinator, you will:
* Coordinate the end-to-end payroll cycle, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legislation, enterprise agreements, and University policies.
* Proactively review payroll processes and systems, identifying opportunities to streamline, digitise, and improve efficiency.
* Conduct compliance checks, audits, and reconciliations to safeguard payroll integrity.
* Provide advice on payroll matters, including entitlements, overpayments, deductions, and award/classification changes.
* Support internal and external audits, while building stronger governance and risk management frameworks.
* Collaborate with People & Culture, Finance, and IT teams to implement process improvements and support system enhancements.
About You
* Ascender Pay experience essential
* Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience.
* Demonstrated experience delivering payroll services in a complex, regulated environment.
* A strong improvement mindset, with proven experience in reviewing processes, solving problems, and implementing more efficient ways of working.
* Solid knowledge of employment legislation, industrial instruments, and payroll compliance requirements.
* Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, with the ability to generate insights and drive smarter decision-making.
* Strong customer focus, accountability, and the confidence to challenge existing practices constructively.
