* Pool cars are used for travel, you need a driving license for this role
About the Role

A Youth Mentor works with clients within the out of home care sector, they act as a positive role model in supporting young people to engage in pro‐social activities and to assist in the development of independent life and living skills. As a Youth Mentor, you will work closely with case managers and the care team to help provide the best outcomes for our young people. Some of the general tasks include:

* Working with case managers to support and maintain placement
* Transporting young people to school and/or appointments
* Working with young people to set, develop and work towards their own goals
* Supporting care givers
* Provide creative respite to placement through outreach and linking in with community activities
* Creating positive memories for children in care
How you'll Make your Mark
* Engage with young people over the phone and in person
* Act as a respectful and positive role model for young people who have experienced significant trauma
* Use knowledge of Best Interest Principles as outlined within the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005
* Put skills and knowledge gained from a minimum of a Certificate IV in Community Services or Child, Youth and Family Intervention or Youth Work or similar
The important stuff
* SCHADS Level 3 which is $39.77 per hour plus 25% casual loading
* Varying hours that may include weekends (penalty rates paid)
* Office location: Bendigo with outreach across the Loddon region
* You must have a driver's license
* Pool cars available for you to use
* Step into a role that allows you to develop and improve your case management skills

Please note: It is mandatory for the successful applicant to hold a current Working with Children Check and be prepared to undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to commencement.
