Start Date: September 2026

About the Role

A Primary School in Everton is seeking a proactive and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant to support inclusion and targeted interventions across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This role is not 1:1-based and instead focuses on small-group support, classroom inclusion, and intervention delivery for pupils with a range of additional needs.

You will work flexibly across year groups, supporting pupils with moderate learning difficulties, speech and language needs, ADHD, and SEMH, helping them to engage with learning and develop confidence within a mainstream setting.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver small-group and short-term interventions in literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
* Support pupils with SEN to remain included within whole-class learning.
* Adapt learning materials to meet diverse needs and learning styles.
* Encourage independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours.
* Provide structured support during transitions, breaktimes, and less structured parts of the day.
* Monitor pupil progress and contribute to SEND support plans.
* Liaise with class teachers and the SENCo to assess and review interventions.
* Maintain accurate records of support delivered and pupil outcomes.
Person Specification Essential
* Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or SEN Support Assistant in a primary school.
* Understanding of inclusive practice in mainstream education.
* Ability to manage low-level challenging behaviour calmly and consistently.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.
Desirable
* Experience delivering group interventions (phonics, maths catch‐up, social skills).
* Knowledge of ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs.
* Experience working across multiple year groups.
* Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
We Offer
* A collaborative and inclusive school ethos.
* Clear guidance and ongoing support from the SENCo and leadership team.
* Opportunities to develop intervention and SEN‐specific skills.
* A varied role with opportunities to work across the school.
* The chance to positively impact pupils' confidence and learning outcomes.
