From beginnings in property development, its success has led to expansion into construction and investment, rounding out the vertically integrated model that sets them apart.About the RoleReporting to the Managing Director, this role will govern and drive all aspects of safety across the entire portfolio with a diverse stakeholder base; from ensuring compliance and industry best practice in residential housing and commercial construction, through to spearheading and shaping the psychological safety and wellbeing program for their 150+ employees.The Head of Health, Safety and Environment is a pivotal leadership role within the Oreana group. Whilst responsible for governing, developing, implementing, and overseeing the comprehensive health, safety, wellbeing framework for Oreana, the role holds a high degree of influence. The seasoned HSE professional will be able to demonstrate their ability and previous success in development of strategy, refinement and curation of new processes, internal team leadership and active demonstration of best practice on the tools as required.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and Implement Safety Strategy: Govern and embed Oreana’s ‘Safety One’ program, aligning it with business objectives, and embed a strong safety culture across all business units and leading the best practice accreditation process.Risk Management & Regulatory Compliance: Oversee a structured approach to how all Oreana sites & projects are inspected, audited and proactively managed to ensure compliance with HSE regulations. Proactively identifying and mitigating risks with an ongoing committed training and education framework. Chair and steer all WHS Committees, sub committees and associated reporting and accountability frameworks.Incident & Injury Management: Lead all investigations, conduct root cause analyses, oversee all return-to-work programs and act as Oreana’s RTW coordinator.Stakeholder Engagement & Training: Act as the key safety advisor for executives, team leaders, contractors, and regulatory bodies, while developing training programs to enhance safety programs and compliance.Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Develop and analyse with critical thinking, all safety performance metrics & provide strategic data to the executives with continuous improvement strategies to implement.Skills & ExperienceUndergraduate degree with postgraduate studies in WH&S or equivalent (expertise from experience, training, and professional accreditation in construction).Well developed volume housing and commercial construction experience, (ideally working as part of or closely with the Executive team in this environment).Demonstrated expertise in the identification of workplace hazards, risk management, WH&S legislation, workers' compensation, and emergency management within construction.Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate teams, with strong negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.Extensive experience in creating WH&S policies & processes, managing budgets, planning strategically across portfolios to leverage synergies, and overseeing compliance across complex projects.Additional InformationMust be available for on-call safety responsibilities when required.Attractive salary + fully maintained company vehicle + phone.A current driver’s license is required to facilitate travel to various construction sites and the head office.To learn more about Oreana, please visit: www.oreana.com.auTo discuss this role in confidence, please contact Rohan Christie at Kingfisher Recruitment on 0413 592 882.Seniority LevelEntry levelEmployment TypeFull-timeJob FunctionConstruction and Building Construction
