The opportunity:
Fitness & Lifestyle Group (FLG) is looking for a Cyber Security Lead to champion our cybersecurity strategy and operations. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for guiding the organisation's security posture, ensuring visibility across critical systems, and driving detection engineering excellence using Microsoft Sentinel and Defender.
You'll work closely with IT and business leaders to shape and implement best practices, lead detection initiatives, and ensure our defences evolve with the threat landscape.

Key duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Strategic Security Leadership:
* Guide FLG on cybersecurity best practices and lead the implementation of Microsoft security tools.
Security Visibility & Detection Engineering:
* Ingest logs into Microsoft Sentinel from Cloudflare, Meraki, Snowflake, and other key systems.
* Build, test, and refine KQL-based analytics rules to detect meaningful security events.
* Optimize alert fidelity and reduce false positives through iterative tuning.
* Continuously review and enhance detection rules to align with evolving threats.
Incident Response & Threat Hunting:
* Monitor and respond to incidents using Sentinel and Defender.
* Conduct root cause analysis and proactive threat hunting.
Compliance & Reporting:
* Ensure alignment with ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and internal policies.
* Deliver clear, actionable reports to stakeholders.
Collaboration & Enablement:
* Partner with IT teams to integrate security tools.
* Mentor staff on security awareness and tool usage.
What you'll bring:
Essential:
* Comparable experience in a lead cybersecurity or strategic role.
* Proven experience with Microsoft Sentinel and Defender (Endpoint, Cloud, Identity).
* Strong grasp of SIEM/SOAR, threat detection, and incident response.
* Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, KQL) and log ingestion strategies.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 security ecosystems
Beneficial:
* Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate.
* Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert.
* Other relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH).
