Registered Midwife

Your Position:

">

As a registered midwife, you will be responsible for providing safe and quality nursing care in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia registration standards, RN Competency standards, and Professional Practice Guidelines.

">

You will practice and promote continuous improvement and a culture of learning and evidence-based practice. Our midwives are dedicated to providing all aspects of pregnancy, birth, and postnatal care in our antenatal clinics and services, on our maternity wards and in birth suites, as well as care for our babies in our special care nurseries.

The Role:

">
* Assist in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of high-standard nursing care in consultation with the healthcare team, patients, and carers.
">
* Provide safe, holistic, and customer-focused patient care.
">
* Ensure nursing care is documented accurately and promptly.
">
* Implement and document medical treatment orders, consulting with doctors if orders are unclear.
">
* Assess the need for and provide health education for patients and carers.
">
* Communicate respectfully, courteously, and compassionately with others.
">
* Maintain patient confidentiality as per Privacy and Confidentiality policies.
">
* Ensure effective verbal and written communication, involving patients, carers, and the interdisciplinary team in healthcare decisions.

Requirements:

">

Successful candidates will have an understanding of relevant acts, codes, and standards related to current practice. Holding registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Midwife, with recent clinical experience in an acute care environment, and a commitment to personal and professional development are essential.

">

Candidates should possess well-developed communication, conflict resolution, negotiation, and problem-solving skills and be able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
