Job Role:
The Mental Health Support Worker is a key position in our organization, responsible for implementing training and support services that help individuals with disabilities maximize their living, employment, social, and recreational skills.
Main Responsibilities:
* Providing personalized care and support to clients based on their individualized care plans
* Assisting with personal tasks, domestic assistance, social support, transportation, and life skills development
Key Qualifications:
* Cert III Individual Support, Mental Health, Aged Care, Community Services, or Disability Work qualification
* Current Working With Children Check, Criminal Record Check, and First Aid Certificate
* Driver's License and reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle
* Smart phone and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Experience:
* Minimum 6 months of relevant experience supporting people with disabilities
* Demonstrated Continuing Professional Development and knowledge of continuous quality improvement principles
Essential Skills:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to build rapport and trust with clients, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks
* Problem-solving and conflict management skills, as well as ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
