 
        
        About the Role 
This position sits within the Technology Services Team, which supports the prison and prison staff in areas such as Application Development & Support, Infrastructure Support, IT Asset Management and Communications devices support. 
The Information Technology Coordinator is responsible for supporting staff and people in our care in the use of technology, hardware and applications support and assist in implementation projects at Western Plains. This role acts collaboratively within Prison's Operations Team and other internal and external stakeholders. 
Given the nature of this position, being a direct contact with people in our care, you will be required to work predominantly on-site. You will be required to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays and attend to urgent work as required. Appropriate remuneration will be applied for the above in accordance with the Victorian Public Service Determination. 
Some of your duties will include: 
Leading a small team of IT officers 
Provide technical advice and assistance to Western Plains staff 
Assist in developing and managing local IT systems 
Act as the Offender Services Network (OSN) administrator, including assisting in infrastructure upgrades, user and system requirements and publishing information on OSN 
Manage the implementation of upgrades and ongoing maintenance of the OSN 
Conduct regular audits of people in our care computers and other IT resources

About you 
To be successful in this role, you will have: 
Experience in leading a small team 
Practical knowledge of computer operations and experience in supporting Microsoft operating systems, telecommunications equipment and other ICT hardware 
Proven experience in delivering high standard of service to internal customers 
Experience in supporting Android and iOS mobile devices 
Experience in IT hardware lifecycle management 
Ability to re-prioritise and plan workload to ensure delivery with deadlines and timeframes in a dynamic work environment 
High level of proficiency using the following suite of applications: Microsoft Windows 10, and Microsoft Office 365 Suite 
Aptitude and willingness to learn new technologies 
Qualifications/requirements 
Experience in programming languages, developing code and implementation of IT related projects would be advantageous
