Overview

The Project Scheduler position reports to the Project Controls Manager and works closely with the AIR7000 (P-8A Poseidon) project manager and team. The position is embedded within the program and provides direct schedule management services to the P-8A program. The position provides complex project planning, scheduling and integration work with a multi-discipline team of Commonwealth and contractor personnel. The Project Scheduler also performs internal Commonwealth schedule activities such as month end processing, baseline management and reporting via PPRIP/MRM as part of a Governance and Assurance function.

Note: This position is required to access US export controlled materiel and therefore applicants will be requested to disclose any dual citizenship with another country during the recruitment process. Dual citizens may be subject to further assessment and appointment to this position will be conditional upon approval to access US controlled export material in accordance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

About our Team

Surveillance and Response Systems Program Office (SRSPO) ensures the availability and performance of highly complex surveillance and response airborne and related systems for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) – including the P-8A Poseidon. SRSPO also acquires and supports common Aeronautical Life Support Equipment (ALSE) used on air vehicles operated by the RAAF, Navy and Army. We also support the MQ-4C Triton, a new remotely piloted high altitude long endurance aircraft system.

At SRSPO we are passionate about working collaboratively with our stakeholders and industry partners to ensure the necessary acquisition, sustainment and regulatory requirements are fulfilled. We do this to support the warfighter and achieve the Department of Defence's strategic and operational objectives.

Our Ideal Candidate

* Liaise with stakeholders including Team Leads, Contractors (Boeing Defence Australia) and external stakeholders (JPO - Joint Program Office) to create, maintain, progress and report the schedule baseline (AIR7000 IMS as well as a high level Story Board) as part of a monthly rhythm.
* Ensure schedule governance and assurance through application of schedule controls, integrity checks, variance analysis, compliance and risk integration where necessary.
* Work with the PM or delegates to manage structures i.e. WBS and maintain approved budgets i.e. AEs/BEs and forecasts in OPP.
* Work collaboratively with all stakeholders, be the SME for scheduling with a clear focus on capability planning and delivery.
* Attend and contribute to various project meetings and forums as the scheduling SME.
* Take initiative to problem solve, demonstrate resilience, teamwork and flexibility to accommodate varying work demands and tasks.
