About the Role

Curtin Careers and Employability is seeking an Indigenous Employment Coordinator to champion the university's commitment to equity, access, and inclusion. This full‐time contract role, available until December 2026, is designated for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants as a genuine occupational requirement.

You will work closely with the Manager, Recruit Curtin and Senior Manager, Careers and Employability to create a culturally responsive way of working to increase the employment outcomes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

You will be part of an inclusive, supportive and collaborative team where belonging and connection are part of every day.

Your responsibilities will include
* Support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through programs like the Aboriginal Student Placement Program (ASPP).
* Coordinate and implement targeted recruitment campaigns to support Indigenous students' access to employment opportunities. Refer students for career counselling and provide tailored employment guidance.
* Collaborate with employers across industry, community, and government to enhance Indigenous recruitment strategies.
* Educate employers on culturally appropriate engagement and diversity recruitment.
* Partner with organisations such as CareerTrackers to expand employment opportunities.
* Build and maintain strong relationships across all Curtin Faculties.
* Develop process manuals for programs and initiatives.
* Undertake activities that further Indigenous student success in employment.
Selection Criteria Who we are looking for
* Progress to, or completion of a relevant tertiary qualification in human resources or similar or a combination of knowledge and experience relevant to the position.
* Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and cultures and a sound understanding of issues and barriers faced by Indigenous students in securing paid employment.
* Experience in collaborating with a diverse range of people in a respectful, culturally appropriate, and informed manner to develop programs and initiatives that result in employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
* Experience in coordinating programs, initiatives and projects including setting priorities and managing time and resources effectively.
* Well‐developed written and verbal communication skills.
* Well‐developed computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office.

If your qualifications or experience look different from what we've described above, but you feel your skills and potential are a match to the capabilities we need, please apply. We are looking for diversity in experience, thought and approach. This role is part of a progressive and supportive team.

Role Requirements
* Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin's satisfaction.
