The Opportunity:

Are you a passionate leader with a drive for aquatic safety, community engagement, and team development? Join the Y Northern Territory and play a key role in shaping thriving, connected, and water-safe communities across our vibrant aquatic facilities.

As our Aquatics Coordinator, you’ll oversee the daily operations of our aquatic centres, ensuring safe, high-quality experiences for our members and visitors. You’ll lead a dynamic team, coordinate engaging aquatic programs, and uphold high safety standards while fostering strong community partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

* Staff Leadership: Lead, supervise and support Duty Managers, Lifeguards, and Customer Service Officers
* Safe Operations: Oversee daily pool operations, including water quality, maintenance, and safety compliance
* Ensure adherence to public health, safety, and regulatory standards
* Programming: Develop and promote aquatic programs in collaboration with schools and community groups
* Reporting: Maintain accurate operational, staffing, and safety documentation
* Financial Management: Support financial reporting, rostering, and resource management

Qualifications and Experience

* Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate
* Pool Technical Operator Certificate (desired)
* Current First Aid (HLTAID003 or higher) and CPR
* Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)
* Satisfactory National Police Check
* Proven experience in aquatic operations and team leadership (3 years preferred)
* Excellent communication, organisational and mentoring skills
* Ability to engage and collaborate with diverse community groups
* Strong knowledge of aquatic safety and compliance regulations

Mandatory Requirements

YMCA, including its Boards of Directors, are committed to the safety and well-being of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding Children and Young People framework. YMCA requires that all applicants undergo satisfactory screening prior to commencement, including but not limited to:

* Valid Working with Children Clearance.
* Satisfactory Criminal History Check.

Any successfully appointed applicant will be required to adhere to the Safeguarding Children and Young People framework, which includes a thorough safeguarding children and young people induction and a commitment to upholding the safety and wellbeing of children and young people throughout their engagement with YMCA.
