The Opportunity
We offer a hybrid work arrangement, allowing you to balance your work from our Newcastle or Wollongong offices and remotely for ~ 2 days per week, as desired.
Your Role:
* Provide environmental assessment and planning inputs (EIS, SSI, SSD, REFs, SEEs, MWREFs, etc) into projects which vary in scale and complexity, including large-scale local and national water, transport, and renewable energy infrastructure projects.
* Develop project management skills with support from experienced senior consultants.
* Collaborate with technical discipline specialists, including ecologists, acousticians, contaminated land scientists, engineers, designers, heritage consultants, stakeholders, and the community to create innovative solutions.
* Support business growth with work-winning initiatives, including preparation of fee proposals.
* Be part of a supportive team of passionate environmental assessment and planning professionals.
You'll gain exposure to various statutory Commonwealth/State/Territory environment and planning approval processes, with potential opportunities across different states.
Recent Projects:
* Early strategic environmental assessment of renewable energy projects, including emerging technologies (onshore and offshore wind, pumped hydro, and hydrogen), and transport projects such as Zero Emissions Bus transitions.
* Environmental assessment and planning approvals services for some of the largest electrical transmission projects, including EnergyConnect, Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone Transmission project, and the Victoria to NSW Interconnector West.
* Planning approvals for iconic projects, including Western Sydney International Airport Airspace approvals and Inland Rail.
About You:
You have between 2-10 years of experience in environmental approvals and planning, and strive to resolve environmental issues to shape outcomes in our community.
In addition, you bring:
* Experience and interest in authoring/contributing to environmental impact assessment and planning approvals documents.
* A working level understanding of NSW's environmental assessment and planning framework.
* Developing project management skills in coordinating multidisciplinary projects.
* Enthusiasm and motivation, enjoying working both independently and as part of larger teams.
* A desire to build your brand in both the NSW/ACT and national markets.
