We're now seeking an experienced Financial Controller to take ownership of the Group's financial function and provide strategic financial leadership across our portfolio businesses.
The Opportunity
As Financial Controller, you will oversee all aspects of financial management, including reporting, budgeting, compliance, and systems development.
You'll play a key role in maintaining a robust governance framework, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring high-quality financial insight for decision-making across the Group.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Group finance team and all accounting functions.
Deliver accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (consolidated and entity-level).
Prepare management reports, variance analyses, cashflow forecasts, and board packs.
Manage the annual budget and forecasting processes.
Identify and monitor financial risks across operations and potential investments.
Lead external audits for the Group and subsidiaries.
Support tax compliance and liaise with external tax advisors.
Manage treasury, cashflow, and working capital.
Maintain quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
Oversee ERP systems and drive upgrades, restructures, and improvements as needed.
Strengthen internal controls, systems, and reporting processes.
Work with advisors to implement risk management recommendations.
Corporate Governance & Stakeholder Management
Present financial information at Board meetings and support governance processes.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Develop and document internal controls, policies, and procedures.
Manage the Group's insurance portfolio.
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Assist company secretaries with corporate reporting and regulatory requirements.
About You
You'll be a commercially minded finance leader who combines technical strength with a proactive, hands-on approach. You thrive on creating structure, improving systems, and providing insight that drives business decisions.
Key Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
CPA or CA qualified.
Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience in senior finance roles, ideally including team leadership.
Background in a large accounting practice (audit or tax exposure preferred).
Advanced MS Excel and strong capability across Microsoft Office.
Experience with ERP systems (implementation or management experience highly regarded).
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
High attention to detail with strong analytical ability.
Able to work independently, prioritise effectively, and manage competing deadlines.
