Our client is a leading education focused organisation, seeking to make a difference by providing innovative online products and services to support schools and teachers. Their offerings include a comprehensive platform for sharing teaching resources, user-friendly software to simplify school management, and a trusted publication delivering the latest educational insights, news, and research.
Position Description
Reporting to the Financial Controller and working as part of a collaborative finance team, you will be responsible for:
Preparing the monthly payroll for 180 employees
Calculate and prepare new starters and termination pays
Ensure leave requests are appropriately submitted and approved
Providing information to employees/managers about payroll matters
Managing the reconciliation of payroll, superannuation payments, bonuses and authorised payroll deductions
Processing payroll tax, reporting and payment for all Australian states
Managing and ensuring compliance with all workers compensation insurance requirements in all states
Ensure employee expense claims (including mileage) are records accurately and in line with internal policies
End of month reporting and posting of payroll related entries
Assisting with year end reporting and administration and working with external auditors
The Successful Candidate
To be a success in this role you will possess:
Previous experience in a similar end to end payroll position
Sound Knowledge of Australian employment legislative and statutory requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Intermediate Microsoft excel and word skills
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft excel and word skills
