Executive Support Role
The Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer plays a pivotal role in facilitating the CEO's leadership and decision-making processes.
This position ensures seamless day-to-day operations through proactive coordination, high-level administrative support, and professional engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
The EA must demonstrate exceptional judgment, initiative, and confidentiality while managing complex priorities in a dynamic environment. The role involves anticipating the CEO's needs, coordinating correspondence and key meetings, preparing documentation, and maintaining relationships that support informed and effective leadership decision making.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing strategic support at a senior management level
* Coordinating high-level correspondence and meetings
* Preparing accurate documentation and reports
* Maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Anticipating and meeting the CEO's needs
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualifications in Business Administration or an equivalent combination of qualifications
* Previous experience providing executive support at a senior management level, preferably in local government
* High level of diplomacy, confidentiality, and customer service skills
* Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to assist in meeting competing deadlines
* Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills across all levels of an organisation
* Ability to demonstrate flexibility in approach to work and workloads
* Demonstrated experience in leading a team
* Demonstrated understanding of the issues impacting Torres Strait Islander people together with the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively
