Job Description
Paspaley Pearling Company are seeking an experienced, reliable and qualified Diesel Mechanic to work as part of our Pearl Farm Engineering Team to assist with the refit and servicing of our pearling vessels and associated machinery. You may be expected to reside in Darwin, Australia and work on a FIFO basis. The rosters may vary depending on locations therefore flexibility is essential.
Remuneration: $85,000 – $100,000 per year Full Time Employment
Key Responsibilities
Detect and diagnose faults in engines and other components using diagnostic equipment and computer systems.
Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance, including oil changes, fluid replacements, and inspections of key systems like brakes, suspension, and steering.
Dismantle, repair, and replace worn or defective parts, and reassemble engines and mechanical components.
Test and adjust mechanical parts after repairs to ensure proper performance, which may include test-driving vehicles.
Performs routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
Adjusts and repairs electrical and mechanical systems such as ignition, fuel injection, and cooling and lubrication systems.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
Adhere to safety policies and procedures and use appropriate safety apparel.
Qualifications
Construction White Card
Drivers License
Hold a relevant qualification equivalent to an AQF Certificate III or higher.
