Do you have a passion for inspiring young minds and supporting children's growth outside of school hours? Penrith City Council is looking for educators to join our before and after school programs - opportunities exist in a permanent, casual and temporary capacity for Before & After School Care and Vacation Care programs across the Penrith LGA.

Commencing hourly rate: $ $ $10 split shift allowance + 12% superannuation + Worker Retention % (hourly rate will be commensurate to completed qualifications)

What You'll Do

* Create engaging, safe, and inclusive experiences for school-aged children.
* Support life skill development through play, recreation, and structured activities.
* Build positive relationships with families, schools, and colleagues.
* Ensure compliance with safety, health, and wellbeing standards.

Who We're Looking For

* Experience supervising and/or interacting with children aged 5-12 years old
* Team player, contributing and upholding organisational values
* Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks to get things done efficiently
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills with children, families, and schools
* Creativity and initiative in planning fun, engaging, and safe activities for children
* Flexibility and reliability to work across morning, afternoon, and vacation care shifts

Essential Requirements

* NSW Working With Children Check (paid/employee).
* Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis training (HLTAID012 or equivalent, or willingness to obtain).
* Commitment to Child Safe Standards and the National Quality Framework.

Qualification Requirements (Preferred but not essential)

* qualifications in School Aged education and Care or ACECQA-recognised equivalent (or working towards) commencing hourly rate will be commensurate to completed qualifications

As part of the recruitment process, we will be holding a Group Assessment centre on Wednesday, 14 January 2026. Successful applicants will be asked to attend either a morning session commencing at 9am or an afternoon session commencing at 3pm.

Important Information:

This is a child-related position under NSW Child Protection laws. Applicants must provide a valid WWCC number and be either an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.

You will be required to undertake employment checks, which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position for which you have applied.
