We are working with a QLD Govt Dept to source a Business Analyst to join their Procurement and Contract Management team (PCMG). This team partners with other business units in delivering support and advice across the procurement lifecycle based on priorities, needs, and objectives. The role of the Business Analyst is to support PCMG and the Queensland Procurement System (QPS) Implementation through analysis of the business requirements and as-is processes for procurement.
In this role you will perform the following duties:
Requirements Gathering & Analysis
* Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to understand procurement-related needs
* Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to elicit detailed business requirements
* Document and validate functional and non-functional requirements
* Translate business needs into clear, actionable functional specifications for system configuration.
* Ensure traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Process Mapping & Improvement
* Analyse existing procurement workflows to identify compliance gaps.
* Facilitate process mapping sessions with subject matter experts to capture current and future state processes.
* Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation
* Recommend process improvements
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
* Act as a liaison between business units, project teams, and technical stakeholders.
* Communicate analysis findings, proposed solutions, and system impacts clearly
* Support change management by contributing to training materials and user guides
The ideal candidate will have specific Business process mapping and change management consultation skills. Change management methodology and experience in delivering complex process change across an organisation. Ideally, we need someone who has Procurement process knowledge (whilst not mandatory, someone who has worked in procurement would be of benefit). The focus of the BA is to process map the client's current way of work to generate key configuration requirements for Vendor Panel. There is no design of the system.
