Weipa operations in far north Queensland includes three bauxite mines, processing facilities, shiploaders, an export wharf, two ports, power stations, a rail network and ferry terminals.
What You Will Be Doing
As a key member of the Weipa HSE Team, you will:
* Provide onsite support and facilitate incident investigations and risk assessments
* Partner with operational leaders to proactively manage health and safety risks
* Deliver the annual H&S plan and support safety maturity initiatives
* Roll out H&S training, coaching, and fundamental initiatives
* Offer trusted advice aligned with the Rio Tinto HSEC Management System
* Coordinate site-based health and wellbeing initiatives
* Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
What You Will Need
* Relevant health and safety qualification or extensive experience in a similar role
* Highly regarded but not essential experience with incident investigations and risk assessment
* Minimum certificate IV in health and Safety or relevant field
* Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
* Strong influencing and engagement skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and reporting systems
* Excellent communication and analytical skills
* C Class Manual Driver's Licence
