As a Counsellor, you will:
* Deliver short-term counselling tailored to client needs
* Conduct assessments and develop brief care plans
* Provide psychoeducation and emotional support
* Facilitate referrals to specialist services
* Maintain accurate and confidential client records
* Participate in community engagement and outreach
* Liaise with other organisations to meet client needs
* Travel across the region to support counselling programs
* Contribute to reporting, evaluation, and data collection

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
* An appropriate degree in Social Work or a human service degree or diploma of an equivalent type. (Current students in their third or final year of their qualification are also encouraged to apply).
* Eligibility for membership with relevant professional body (e.g. Australian Association of Social Workers, Australian Counselling Association)
* Demonstrated experience in providing counselling and therapeutic interventions
* Knowledge of trauma-informed and culturally safe practices
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively
* Demonstrated ability to work with and be sensitive to the differing needs of people from various cultural groups.
* High level of communication and negotiation skills, both verbally and in writing.
* Effective organisational and time management skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a highly confidential manner.
* High level of ability in the use of Microsoft Office and Information Technology.
Requirements of the role:
* Hold (or willingness to obtain) a current DHS Working With Children Check *
* Hold (or a willingness to obtain) a National Criminal History Record Check (Police Check) *
* Hold a current South Australian Driver's License (minimum Provisional License)
