The Crew Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient & effective day-to-day operations of Drilling and Well Servicing rig crews while overseeing the recruitment and onboarding processes for all crew members.

This individual is responsible for coordinating the logistics of the workforce, ensuring that crew and rostering needs are met, company policies & procedures are followed, and that crews are working at optimum productivity levels. The coordinator will manage crew rosters, facilitate communication, and provide support for operational tasks for all Well Servicing, Light & Heavy Drilling Rigs.

This role requires strong organisational, communication and leadership skills to ensure the smooth operation of Rig and Operational activities.

Key Responsibilities
Crew Coordination:
Organise and maintain crew rosters to ensure sufficient coverage and workforce availability.
Maintain up-to-date records of crew rosters, leave requests, and attendance.
Coordinate and provide logistical arrangements for all personnel movements
Provide ongoing support and direction to crew members, fostering a positive team environment, promoting collaboration and effective communication among crew members and across all workforce groups
Assist in workforce planning and support the development of resource allocation.
Monitor crew attendance and report any issues related to workforce availability or performance
Coordinate with other departments to ensure the smooth functioning of the operational rig crews, ensuring minimal downtime

Recruitment and Onboarding:
Utilisation of the Savanna Recruitment System (Scout Talent) to develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract skilled workers, notifying HR manager when new postings have been published.
Screen and evaluate job applications, conduct interviews, and select candidates in collaboration with operational requirements.
Finalise letters of employment, collation of all required employment documentation and finalise employee set up in HRIS (ConnX) system
Oversee the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding process, ensuring that new starters are adequately inducted, understand safety procedures & compliance, and are integrated into the workforce.
Maintain accurate, current records of recruitment efforts, contracts, and personnel files.
Process all crew movements, promotions, terminations ensuring personnel systems are accurate and up-to-date

Safety and Compliance:
Ensure that all crew are compliant with safety compliance policies and procedures, in coordination with Training and Operations teams.
Facilitate the supply of new starter personal protective equipment.
Report and address any safety violations or concerns promptly to maintain a safe work environment.
Work closely with the Injury Management Advisor to facilitate the safe return of injured or ill employees back to workforce in a timely, supportive manner

Administrative Support:
Maintain up-to-date personnel records, ensuring consistent & accurate data entry for all HRIS (ConnX) system processes
Prepare reports related to third party vendors, crew performance, and recruitment efforts as requested from internal and external company stakeholders.
Maintain an understanding of all Drilling and Well Servicing rig processes and requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proven experience in Rig operations, crew coordination, or human resources management, ideally within the resource industry.
Experience with recruitment processes, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding candidates.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Work effectively as part of a diverse team in a fast paced, flexible & ever-changing environment.
Excellent stakeholder management skills.
Experience with recruitment processes, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding candidates.
Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools, HR software).
Strong problem-solving abilities and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to maintain a calm and effective approach in challenging or emergency situations.
Bachelor degree / qualification in HR or related field an advantage
